We are an all-volunteer group of amazing women.
Any registered Democrat in California who subscribes to DWEDC’s mission is eligible for membership in DWEDC irrespective of age, disability, economic status, gender, national origin, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
DWEDC is dedicated to helping to elect Democrats to all offices, especially electing local candidates to office in El Dorado County. DWEDC promotes social and economic policies that reflect the priorities of women. We do this by educating members and the general public on women’s issues; increasing political awareness – both within the membership and in the general public; increasing political participation of women in our community; recruiting women of all ages to become DWEDC members; and raising money for women’s issues and causes.
Democrats believe that each of us has an obligation to each other, to our neighbors and our communities. Each of us has a role to play in creating our future — and while we have made great progress as a nation, we know that our work is never done. We are an all-volunteer group.
As President Biden said at his State of the Union address, “My lifetime has taught me to embrace freedom and democracy. A future based on the core values that have defined America: honesty, decency, dignity, equality. To respect everyone. To give everyone a fair shot.”
Hello DWEDC Members,
The next DWEDC General Meeting will be held on November 14, 2024. It has been a hectic political season, and we have worked hard to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. This has required significant effort and time. At our upcoming meeting we will take a moment to exhale and turn our focus on rejuvenating our energy through a presentation on self-care.
We are excited to host Zuri Walker, BA, MS. as the guest speaker. Zuri is a Transformational Executive Coach with a RYT 200 Certification in Yoga. Her transformational coaching approach prioritizes healing through self-care while helping individuals unlock their purpose. Zuri will share her insights with the DWEDC membership during a 20-30-minute presentation.
Zuri's extensive experience in organizational development and change management spans decades and includes working with clients in both the public and private sectors. As a result of working with high-profile clients, such as Nike, MetLife, and eight Cabinet Departments (including the Department of Justice), Zuri has established a highly regarded reputation in the industry.
Zuri is an effective coach with over a decade of coaching experience under her belt. Her coaching programs are highly effective, thanks to her deep understanding of creating organizational success and her ability to support leaders in identifying their unique needs and opportunities. This, in turn, enables Zuri to help leaders create powerful, sustainable changes for themselves and in their overall effectiveness.
Zuri has worked with a wide range of clients, including senior leaders and executives from Silicon Valley companies such as Facebook, Pinterest, SpaceX, and Intuit. She has also coached CEOs of mid-range companies and non-profit organizations.
In addition to her coaching and consulting career, Zuri is a masterful facilitator, trainer, and public speaker who has worked with thousands of people. She has given hundreds of workshops and served as key note speaker to women’s organizations, major universities, and non-profit organizations.
