Donna Rixmann has been the Sole Proprietor of Yoga Peace Yoga Therapy for 22 years. She has lived in EDH since 1993 with her husband, Bill. They have an adult son and a small dog.

Donna teaches public and private classes locally in the El Dorado Hills and adjacent areas. She sees private clients and has a studio in her corporate headquarters (aka her home). In yoga therapy, yoga postures, breathing, and meditation are used to address issues from sore shoulders to anxiety.
When she started, she intended to deepen her practice by going to an initial 700-hour
Teacher Training. Typical initial training is 200 hours, but she completed three times that amount and then went to India for 300 more. Upon graduating, she knew she couldn’t keep this knowledge to herself and had to share it by teaching. The journey continued as she took additional training to become a yoga therapist and an ayurvedic practitioner (which promotes personal balance through diet, lifestyle, and herbs).
Always on a quest to learn more, Donna is currently in a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification program and will begin teaching an Intro to Mindfulness series starting in March.
Donna says, “I love living here in EDH, and meeting the local Dems has been a wonderful experience. I greatly enjoy the intellect and humor of everyone I’ve had the privilege to meet. It’s been a lovely addition to my life to assist in supporting causes dear to me. To be engaged in the local policy is an important part of being a good citizen.”
